血瘀症的病理基础是凝血与纤溶系统平衡紊乱,造成组织细胞缺氧、自由基增多、微循环障碍、血栓形成。由此导致多种器官组织损害。如心、脑及血管疾患、血液病、肿瘤、肝、肺纤维化、糖尿病及加速机体衰老进程等。故简述以上各种疾病的病理及中医药治疗,而整个治疗过程均贯穿活血化瘀这一原则。

The pathology of Blood Stasis Syndrome lies in the disruption of the balance between blood coagulation and fibrinoly sis, causing cellular ischemia, increased free radicals, impediment of microcirculation and formation of thrombus and leading to tissue damages of various organs. For examples, diseases of heart, brain, blood vessels, blood, tumor, liver, fibrosis of lungs, dia- betes, and pre-mature aging, etc. In this article, the above mentioned ailments will be discussed in the aspects of pathology and Chinese medicine treatment. The key to the treatment is the principle of resolving blood stasis.
