Venous thrombosis and arterial thrombotic disorders have long been viewed as separate pathophysiological entities, partly as a result of the obvious anatomical differences, as well as their distinct clinical presentations. Recently, the potential association between venous thrombo-embolism( VTE ) and atherosclerosis was described for the first time in 2003. Subsequently, numerous investigations have addressed the topic.
