Pragmatic Ambivalence and Cognitive Environment

语言具有模糊性,言语交际是在一定语境中进行的信息传递的动态系统,是交际双方在意图和意义之间映射的互动过程。语用模糊是语言运用过程中产生的一种不可避免的现象。语用模糊现象的存在说明交际活动中的语言有不确定性,而话语意义的协调又需要借助具体的认知语境来实现。

This paper mainly discusses the dynamic relationship between pragmatic ambivalence and communicative context from cognitive and communicative perspective. Pragmatic ambivalence is an inevitable phenomenon in the process of applying language. The existence of pragmatic ambivalence shows the uncertainty of language in communicative activities; On the other hand, the negotiation of meaning of an utterance depends on the particular cognitive environment.
