A Discussion on the Professionalism of News Photographer

美国学者曾指出,专业必须经历五大历程:必须成为全职工作的行业,必须有学校提供专业教育,必须有专业组织,必须工作自主,必须有自律的伦理规范。新闻摄影记者虽然是一项全职性的工作,专业的摄影教育也在建立,但是在专业知识、工作自主、专业组织和专业伦理方面,都还有很长一段路要走。

As noted by American scholar Wilensky, one should undergo five courses to be a professional： being engaged in a fulltime industry, being with professional education background, being supported by professional organization, working independently and having self-discipline code of ethics. Compared to this view, news photographer has a long way to go in terms of professionalism.
