Interface design of hand-holding mobile devices based on users' mental models

摘要 以用户模型内部表征的视觉化为基础,对用户的心智模型与操作绩效进行了认知人机实验研究.16个典型被试参与了实验,实验材料为2套基于'格式-格式'和'格式-栏式'心智模型设计的手机界面.实验结果表明,空间一致性良好的'格式-格式'心智模型比空间一致性不良的'格式-栏式'心智模型所对应的交互绩效高;虽然任务属性的强弱导致了心智模型的强弱,但空间一致性强的系统在交互绩效方面仍然比空间一致性弱的系统表现优秀,这表明心智模型的逻辑一致性是影响界面可用性的一个重要因素.在此基础上,提出了以心智模型为基础的界面交互设计思路,并以手机界面设计为案例得到了验证. By visualizing inner representations of user models, a cognitive ergonomic experiment was carried out to study the relationship between mental models and operation performance. Sixteen typical subjects and two sets of mobile phone interfaces according to the “lattice-lattice” mental model (L-LMM) and the “lattice-column” mental model (L-CMM) were involved. The experimental results show that the L-LMM with a good spatial affordance has higher interaction performance than the L-CMM which has a bad spatial affordance, and although a task’s attributes have strongeffect on mental models, an interaction system with a strong spatial affordance is better in interaction performance than that with a weak spatial affordance. It manifests that a mental model's spatial affordance is an important determinant of interface usability. Based on these, an interactive design method in terms of users’ mental models was proposed and confirmed by designing a set of mobile phones interface.
