An American Tragedy mainly tells us a story about a poor young man named Clyde, who was eager to realize his American dream, however, he was in the process of self-destruction. It emphasizes that the＇ American dream＇ was shattered in nature and the incantation everyone can make a fortune has made everybody like Clyde to fall into the irrevocable abyss.
