海峡西岸经济区的提出与实施具有十分重大的战略意义,有利于应对全球区域经济一体化的挑战和培育东南沿海经济增长极。文章在对海峡西岸经济区的涵义作了深入剖析的基础上,着重对海峡西岸经济区的区位的合理确定、区域竞争力(包括城市综合竞争力与经济竞争力)和城市引力及中心城市定位进行了科学的建模分析与预测,在总结当前海峡西岸经济区发展存在问题的基础上提出了若干建议。

It is of great strategic significance of the proposal and implementation of economic zone on the west side of the straits. This will be conducive to coping with the global economic integration challenges and nurturing the southeast coastal economic growth pole. Based on the in - depth analysis of the meaning of economic zone on the west side of the straits, this article emphasizes on the reasonable definition of its area coverage. It also makes scientific modeling analysis and forecast on the district competition ability, including synthetical competition ability and economics competition ability of cities, cities＇ gravitation and the strategy positioning of key cities. Finally the article has put forward several proposals on the basis of summarizing the current development problems of economic zone on the west side of the straits.
