科技英语被动句物称行为主体的翻译

On the Translation of Impersonal Agents with the Passive in the English of Science and Technology

英语被动语态在纯客观的一般性科技语体中使用很多,正是因为语体的客观性,人称行为主体(施事者)在科技英语被动句中通常不予出现,而物称行为主体则一般不能省略。本文分类分析了科技英语被动句的物称行为主体,并依据不同的行为主体所起的不同语义作用以及英汉两种语言在表现形式上的差异对其翻译技巧进行了初步的探讨。

The passive is commonly used in the objective, impersonal style of scientific English, and just because of its style the agent is not normally mentioned if it is a person, but Impersonal Agents generally occur in this kind of English sentences. With the analysis of different impersonal agents with the passive in the English of science and technology, the ways to translate them from English to Chinese are discussed in the paper according to their different semantic roles in the passive sentences and their different expression in Chinese.
