As a special electrical audio - visual medium, English original sound movies play a supplementary role, which display the target language＇s background directly and vividly and creat the real environment to study the target language for students. English original sound movies have been tried to use as input materials for non - majors in the practice of task - based language listening and speaking teaching. In this paper the significance, suggestion, criteria of using them and demands for the teachers are discussed.
