毛泽东在20世纪40年代对中国现代化模式进行了积极探索,提出了中国现代化发展战略构想:现代化必须坚持社会主义方向;现代化必须是全方位的现代化,即经济现代化、政治现代化、文化现代化以及人的自身现代化。今天重温毛泽东在20世纪40年代提出的现代化的构想,对于构建社会主义和谐社会,仍然具有重要意义。

Mao Zedong has carried out an active exploration on the mode of Chinese modernization in 1940＇s, having drawn the strategies of Chinese modernization development, which include that modernization must adhere to the socialism, and modernization must be omnidirectional, namely modernization in economy, politics, culture, and people. It is still of great importance today to recall these tragedies to construct harmonious socialist society.
