孟浩然笔下的田园是一个返朴归真的乐土,而王维诗中所描绘的田园则是封建士大夫躲避政治风浪的港湾。他们在观察自然物象时,孟浩然多采用"动察",而王维则常采用"静观"。在创作手法上,孟浩然多运用"白描"手法,而王维则常使用"彩绘"手法。

The rural life in Meng Haoran＇s poems is the dreamland back to purity, while the life in Wang Wei＇s works is the sanctuary away from the politics for feudal officials with high education in.literature. Due to different attitude to beauty, each took his own way to observe natural scenery, for instance, Meng used the ＂moving＂ method while Wang the ＂still＂. The same thing happened to the versifications of two poets. Meng used ＂plain description＂, but Wang adopted ＂colorful characterization＂.
