礼貌是东西方各社会各群体共有的普遍现象,是人类社会文明的标志。人们表示礼貌的方式方法以及用以判断礼貌的标准是存在差异的,意即礼貌受文化的制约而表现出一定的特殊性。对汉英两种语言在礼貌实现过程中所表现出来的差异进行比较研究,目的在于减少跨文化交际过程中的误解和文化冲突。

Politeness is a general phenomenon in various societies and groups, and it is the mark of human social civilization. Restricted by culture, politeness has specific characteristic. There are different ways and criteria for expressing and judging politeness. The differences of managing politeness between English and Chinese language are analyzed, aiming at reducing some misunderstanding and cultural conflict in cross -- cultural communication.
