Teaching of modem literature in university faces the large predicaments：construction and adjustment of class hour, pressure of employment to lead to utilitarian study, mechanical and monotonous examination to evaluate. The valid ways to solve the predicament to be faced with the course of modem literature in university： taking elective courses seriously, enhancing interchange between teacher and student in classroom,working hard to refine humanistic spirit of the course,constructing the system of examine and evaluation about new courses.
