College Bilingual Teaching in China: Problems and Strategies

摘要 近年来,双语教学已成为我国高等教育教学改革的一个热点,各高校纷纷参与其中。但受各种因素的限制与束缚,其理论研究和教学实践仍处在摸索阶段。师资缺乏、学生接受困难、优秀教材缺乏是目前双语教学面临的现实困境,双语教学的改革与发展,需要加强师资的培养,更需要科学的规划和管理。 Recent years have witnessed bilingual teaching overwhelmingly popular in China' s higher-education teaching reform, with many colleges and universities participating therein. The theories and applications of bilingual teaching are, nevertheless, far from invulnerable due to various factors at present. The shortage of teaching staff, the challenge to students' comprehension and the absence of ideal textbooks have comprised the realistic predicament for the current bilingual teaching. The reform and development of bilingual teaching, therefore, call for training more qualified teachers and attaching more importance to scientific planning and management.
