红楼女儿尤三姐,是一个出类拔萃的奇女子。其个性特征可用三个字概括:识、烈、情。一、识,她识见不凡,对婚姻观具有超前意识。二、烈,她性烈如火,敢于冲破封建礼教的牢笼,不顾一切地追求婚姻自由。三、情,她钟情于柳湘莲,以为他是可以寄托终身的男人。可是,这个"冷郎君"辜负了她的一片痴情。为了爱情理想,尤三姐毅然拔剑自刎。她的死是对封建社会"以礼杀人"的抗议,曹雪芹热情地歌颂了尤三姐的壮烈殉情。

YOU San-jie＇s personality can be summed up in three words： sapient, unyielding and spoony. As to sapient, she has an advanced prediction to her marital view; As to unyielding, she dares to break through the feudal ethics, pursues the freedom of marriage; As to spoony, she is deep in love with LIU Xian-lian, and believed that he was the only man she could count on for lifelong time. But LIU turned out to be a heartbreaker and disappointed her so much that she committed suicide resolutely. Her death is a protest to feudal ritual. CAO Xue-qin warmly eulogized YOU San-jie＇s heroic deed of committing suicide in the name of love.
