Nationalism and Regionalism in Asia

民族主义和区域主义的关系问题在不同历史时期都引起了国际关系学界的关注与争论。从"民族主义-区域主义-全球主义"之间关系的视角,作者对亚洲的民族主义和区域主义进行了分析,认为民族主义是20世纪亚洲各国发展的火车头。二战后许多新兴国家的执政者为了建设现代民族国家和培育民众的国民意识,将民族主义作为其意识形态和政治目标而加以鼓励。对于东亚共同体建设这一亚洲区域主义制度化的动向受到了各国民族主义崛起的牵制。作者认为,在构筑与驾驭民族主义机制的问题上,各国应重视推进认同感的多重化,使参与其中的民族主义更加开放。

The relationship between nationalism and regionalism has always been a focal point of IR scholars in different historical stages.From the perspective of 'nationalism-regionalism-globalism',the author argues that nationalism was only a tractor of Asian history in the 20th century.After World War II,many leaders of the Asia newly emerging countries who sloughed off from colonization rule tried to construct modern nation-states and encouraged the nationalism from a top as the ideology and political goal in order to foster national consciousness in residents.The construction of East Asian community,the institutionalization of Asian regionalism,was discouraged by the rising nationalism of many countries.The author holds that to build and properly handle nationalism,countries should enhance the formation of multiple identities and a more open nationalism.
