Thirty Misapplications in Graduate Students' Thesis

讨论了当前研究生论文中普遍存在的严重问题。总体而言,存在着标准太低、缺乏理论指导和思维混乱的问题。选题方面,存在着不具有科学探索的倾向、过于肤浅、重心太高、将专项等同与专业、文献综述只综不述或只述不评、不能掌握相关领域主要进展等问题。方法方面,存在忽视实验方法、问卷误用、统计误用以及简单应用百分比等问题。结果与讨论方面,存在数据轰炸、证据不足、缺乏概括性的提炼和总结等问题。结论方面,存在与常识雷同、简单重复研究结果等问题。在科学精神和研究取向的层面上分析了产生这些问题的可能原因。

Inaccuracies in present graduate students＇ papers are discussed. In general, low academic standard, lack of the-oretical guidance and confusing argumentation and demonstration are often encountered in their research papers. In terms of research themes, lack of hypothesis, superficial research, inane descriptions without detailed evidence, taking a sport as an academic discipline, no comments or no descriptions in literature review, not paying attention to updated information in relevant fields are common problems. In terms of research methodology, neglecting experiments, misuses of questionnaire, misuses of statistics and simply using percentage numbers to describe without instructive analysis are common. As far as discussion part concerned, over-used statistical tables, failing to provide detailed evidence, lack of intelligent abstraction and summary are common. In conclusion part, being similar to common sense, simply repeating the results are common problems. The underlying causes leading to these inaccuracies lie in scientific spirits and research approaches.
