The paper organizes the literal sense of the idiom ＂Ceng Ji He Shi＂, points out the problem existing in the annotation of the idiom in the dictionary, briefly comments Huang Rulong＇s academic result in the study of the new lexieal sense of the idiom, arrives at two major tendencies in lexieal sense by employing language data statistics to re-induce the semantic and pragmatic features of the idiom, concisely analyses the reasons for the change of its meaning, and finally presents two new usages of the idiom.
