摘要 微小倒转重复转座因子(miniature inverted-repeat transposable elements;MITEs)是动植物中广泛存在的非自主DNA因子,在基因组结构的进化中扮演重要的角色。文章综述了自MITEs在植物基因组中发现10多年来的研究进展,包括它们的特征、分类与应用,并探讨了植物MITEs研究面临的挑战。 MITEs (Miniature Inverted-repeat Transposable Elements) are reminiscent of non-autonomous DNA (class II) elements widely distributed in animals and plants and play an important role on the evolution of genome structure. The research progresses of MITEs in plant genomes, including characteristics, classification and application of MITEs were reviewed in the paper. The challenges of plant MITEs research in the future were also discussed.
