On Functional Independence of Sex,Love and Marriage——A Functionalist Reading of Plato's"Symposium"under the Framework of"Module Psychology"

依据作者所倡导的"模块心理学"的基本框架,对柏拉图《会饮》中的"爱欲"(Erotic)进行功能主义式的解读。这种解读表明,性、爱情和婚姻可分解为三个功能独立的模块:性(Sex)的功能是快感;爱情(Love)的功能是幸福;婚姻(Marriage)的功能是繁衍。从功能独立或特殊的角度看,性、爱情与婚姻都具有可分离性。如果无视这三者的功能区分,或将三者的功能加以混淆或替代,那么两性的情感关系将会出现问题或危机。

This paper is a functionalist reading of the ＂Erotic＂ in Plato＇s ＂Symposium＂ under the framework of ＂module psychology＂ which author initiated. It suggest that sex, love and marriage can be decomposed into three independent modules with their own functions of pleasure, well-being and reproduction separately. From a functionally independent or special perspective, sex, love and marriage are of separability. The relation between sexes will come into a trouble or a crisis in disregard of the distinction of these functions.
