《国语》“记言体”辨

古今多数史家都认为《国语》是我国古代记言体史书的代表。但这种判断一方面是源于对书名和内容的表面认识,另外也没有关注到《国语》编者对《国语》体例的精心安排和对前代史书的继承和发展。《国语》并不是先秦所谓的语体书,也与实质上的记言史书有较大的区别,其重心应在叙事而非记言。《国语》与《左传》一样,应该是先秦记事史书发展到一定阶段的必然产物。
