摘要
作为传播批判学派的一个分支,格拉斯哥媒介研究小组是英国媒介研究领域的一支重要力量。格拉斯哥媒介小组以电视新闻作为研究对象,力图揭示权力与真相之间的关系;采用定量和定性结合的新受众研究方法;秉承英国文化研究的意识形态批判传统,反思媒介的启蒙功能;强调媒介在促进民主进程方面至关重要的功能。
Glasgow University Group, as a branch of critical school of communication, is an important media study bureau. Taking TV news as their objectives, the group tries to disclose the relationship between power and truth; in the meanwhile they developed a new audience method characterized with qualitative and quantitative analysis. What＇s more, the group inherited the tradition of ideological critique of Cultural Study, and reflected the media＇s function of Enlightenment and promoting democracy.
