In this paper, the author concisely discusses the recognizing process about the natural phenomena fire during the long period from the discovery of fire in ancientry to the establishment of scientific burning theory in recency, and the interacting process of the recognition about fire with the philosophical thought in that time, then probes into the reason why the scientific burning theory took such a long time to produce.
