谭恩美在《喜福会》中对母女关系主题巧妙且深入的刻画,使该书自出版以来获得了学者的广泛关注。紧密围绕母女关系这一主题,利用系统功能文体学理论中概念功能的及物性系统分析,结合语篇功能理论中的主位分析,对《喜福会》一些文本的语言文体特色进行系统分析,以探讨第一人称叙述中隐含的多重意识是如何凸现母女间期望与失望的冲突与妥协的。

Ever since its publication, Amy Tan＇s The Joy Luck Club has received scholars＇ constant attention to its ingenious revelation of mother-daughter relationships. Through a systematic analysis of the stylistic features of certain texts in the novel, mainly by way of transitivity and thematic analysis, it is attempted to bring to light the multiple hidden in the first-person narration, and the way it unravels the conflicts as well as comprises between expectations and disappointments in mother-daughter relationships.
