符号意义的复杂性,主要表现为意义"生命"的过程性、意义类型的多样性和意义层次的开放性。意义是作为符号能指和所指同时产生的,它也有一个增长、变异乃至消亡的过程。在类型上,符号意义可以有不同的类别,如内涵意义和外延意义、理性意义和联想意义、象征意义等。我们要在特定的文化语境中,对各种复杂的符号进行动态分析,揭示这些符号在不同文化中的象征意义,揭示其产生与发展的内在规律与生成模式,深入地挖掘其深层结构中的文化内涵,促进跨文化的言语交际和不同民族文化的交流与融合。

The complexity of the meanings of signs lies in the process in which how the meanings develop, the diverse genres of meanings and the free denotation of signs at different levels. Meanings are generated when signs act as signifier and signified. Meanings of signs go through a process of development, variation and disappearance. The meanings of signs can be classified into different genres, such as connotation and denotation, reason and association, symbolism, etc. We should make a deep analysis of the complex signs in a specified cultural context and explore the symbolism of signs in different cultures. We should also explore how meanings are generated and developed while revealing their deep cultural connotations so as to promote cross-cultural communication.
