The Network Processor is a professional processor to suit for the need of the faster-speed bandwidth intemet. It sends the data packet to the next node in the speed of its arriving by the processing of the special packet, not like the common processors which deal with various commands in a large scope at the same time. This paper introduces the architecture and the function features of the IXP425 network processor of the Intel Company. It states the parallel processing technology in IXP425 network processor.
