摘要
隐喻作为一种修辞现象,在大学英语教材中随处可见。它的使用使篇章更加生动、精彩,但由于其复杂的语义特征,有时又会给阅读带来困难。因此,依据隐喻特征,分析其在词汇、句子及语篇中发挥的作用,是提高学生阅读理解不容忽视的重要一环。文章从隐喻中本体和喻体的相似性、隐喻的双重影像及语境对隐喻理解的作用诸方面进行探讨,以期引起教师在英语教学中对隐喻理解的重视。
Metaphor, as a rhetorical phenomenon, can been seen everywhere in the teaching material of College English. Its use makes articles more vivid and brilliant, but at the same time, brings difficulties to readers.because of its complicated semantic characteristics. Therefore, analyzing its roles playing in words, sentences, and articles according to its characteristics is an important thing to improve students' reading comprehension. This article aims to explore the similarity of the tenor and vehicle of metaphor, double image and the function of the context in metaphor understanding so as to arouse the awareness of the importance of metaphor understanding in English teaching.
