With comparatively rich coal resource, developing coal- based new energy resource and the derivative down stream petrochemical products are alternative way to substitute oil. The paper analyzed potential market and bottle-necking limitation in developing coal-based energy resource and its derivative products. Suggestions and countermeasures are also put forward.
