在清末的文学改良思潮中,中国文学萌发了"现代"的观念。其中,梁启超提出的"诗界革命"、"文界革命"、"小说界革命"、"曲界革命"等一系列主张,使文学不仅在观念上发生了重大的变化,而且在文体上也逐渐偏离原来的轨道,向着世界性的现代化方向发展。梁启超的文学界革命,在中国文学现代化进程中起到先导作用。
