The manufacture technologies for rear axle housing of commercial vehicle were summarized and the comparison of the carrying capacity and production cost was .conducted between cast and punching-welding rear axle housings. Based on the development and improvement made by Dongfeng group and FAW group, the application situation and advantages of cast and punching-welding rear axle housings were discussed, and several problems that should be paid close attention to in the production of cast rear axle housings were also put forward.
