本文对陆丙甫(2000)作了补充和发挥,进一步阐明作为一个描写性标志的汉语"的"跟主要作为指别性标志的日语の之间的对立。这一对立能解释以下现象:日语"遠ぃ、近ぃ、多ぃ"等形容词很少直接做定语修饰具体名词,而通常使用连用形后加の;"的"很容易省略而の几乎不能省略。文章也提出了定语标志在"指别性-描写性"连续统上的连续性问题。

Based on LU （2000）, this article describes and explains in more detail the difference between the modification markers de in Chinese and no in Japanese, It also explains some other related issues such as why Japanese adjective tooi ＇ far＇ , t/kai ＇ near＇ and ooi ＇ many＇ seldom directly modify concrete nouns and why Chinese de can be omitted frequently in context while no never.
