摘要
潼关税村隋代壁画墓位于陕西省潼关县高桥乡税村,陕西省考古研究院2005年3月至12月对该墓进行了抢救性发掘。墓内出土的线刻石棺,是隋唐考古和美术考古史上的又一重要发现。该石棺体量之大、图像之繁复、制作之精美,在南北朝、隋唐考古史上可谓'扛鼎之作'。为了使学术界能够更好地了解该画像石棺的全貌,特别将石棺单独介绍。墓葬发掘简报刊布于《文物》2008年第5期。
This sarcophagus, unearthed from a Sui mural tomb at Shuicun, Shaanxi Province in 2005, was believed to belong to a prince of Sui Dynasty. It comprised of the cover, the head panel, the end panel, left and right side-panels and the bottom. The sarcophagus, facing to the west when excavated, measures 2.90 meters in length,1.42 meters in height and 1.40 meters in width. The surface of the sarcophagus was delicately line-carved. A total of 84 turtleback-like units were arranged on the top surface of the cover. Each unit has a thematic pattern. There are 56 auspicious-animal patterns which can be categorized into 28 kinds. Others include the acanthus knot design, amrta-kalasa, mani pearl, parrot, megranate, etc. The head panel was depicted with gate, gate-guardians and Zhuque. Xuanwu and a warrior with a knife in hand were depicted on the end panel. The carvings on the side panels depicted a picture of parade, represented by a chariot, Royal Lord, guardians, musical team and etc. All the deities on the left side panel are male and on the right side panel are female. The sides of the bottom were decorated with auspicious-animals.
