This paper analyzes the group ware- Lotus Notes--from perspective of DBMS. Focus is set on the capability of entity-relationship description and manipulation of both data and relation in Lotus Notes'document data model. A comparison between Lotus Notes'data model and the traditional data models is also presented. Finally, the principle of applying Lotus Notes is proposed based on the analysis above.
