From Theoretical Criticism to Practical Concern:A Study of Leo Lowenthal's Literary Sociology Idea

洛文塔尔作为法兰克福学派中的重要成员,为学派的发展做出了极为重要的贡献,但是关于他的思想研究却长期不被重视,理论定位的不准确又使得对其思想的研究存在一定程度的不足。对洛文塔尔的思想发展进行历史梳理后可以看出,他关于文学社会学的理论研究是在运用学派传统的批判方法的基础上,遵循自身思想逻辑线索发展而来的具有广泛现实效用的理论成果,在很大程度上影响了美国大众文化的理论研究。

Leo Lowenthal is one of the most important members in the Frankfurt School, who has made splendid contributions to the School. However, few scholars have paid attention to his achievements. The inaccurate theoretical orientation of Lowenthal＇ s theory has led to this limited study of his theory. A historical research about the formation of Lownethal＇s thoughts shows that his literary sociology study was based on the School＇s traditional method and developed with his own logic, which finally made his thoughts enjoy a wide range of practicality, and greatly influence the American mass culture research.
