论经贸外宣资料英译中冗余信息的处理

On handling redundancy in C-E translation of economic literature

运用翻译目的论的有关原理和信息论中冗余信息这一概念,并结合译例,分析与讨论经贸外宣资料英译中的冗余信息处理方法,指出为了取得良好的对外宣传效果,译者有必要在译前根据发起人所设定的翻译目的处理原语文本中冗余信息,不仅如此,在翻译过程中译者还应该根据译语读者的接受能力,再次增减冗余信息。

Based on Skopos theory of redundancy in information theory and with examples taken from economic literature translations, this paper explores methods of handling redundancy in Chinese-English translation of economic literature, concluding that in order to achieve the effect of propaganda, translators should control redundancy in the source text according to the translation purpose set by initiators before translating, and in the process of translation make necessary additions and deletions of redundancy again in the light of the target readers＇ receptivity.
