Effect of Outward Foreign Direct Investment on Trade of Home Country——An Analysis Based on Industries

对外贸易与国际直接投资具有很大的关联性,二者都是一国经济实现与世界接轨的重要途径。基于中国劳动密集型和资本技术密集型两大产业,从贸易总量、绩效与结构三个角度定量检验对外直接投资的贸易效应,研究结论显示,中国两大产业对外直接投资的增长分别能够带动国内同行业对外贸易的增长,对中国来讲,劳动密集型产业仍将是对外投资的主导产业,但是也不能忽略资本和技术密集型产业。

The external trade and foreign direct investment are closely related to each other, and both of them are important ways for one country to link up with the world economy. The author tests the effect of outward foreign direct investment （OFDI） on foreign trade from quantity, performance and structure, observing the laborintensive and capital and technology-intensive industry of China respectively. It shows that both OFDI growths in these two industries can drive its domestic corresponding industries＇ foreign wade. In terms of China, the labor - intensive industry will still be the leading industry during foreign investment. Meanwhile, we cannot neglect the capital and technology-intensive industry.
