Xieyou 982 is a new late indica hybrid rice combination of Xieqingzao A and Jinhui 982 developed by Jinhua Agricul- ture Research Institute of Zhejiang province. Its parent characteristics, breeding procedure, characteristics, cultivation and hybrid seed production techniques were introduced in the paper.
