摘要
公示语汉英翻译的目的是让受众准确理解译文所传递的信息。要实现这个目的,译者必须要有跨文化意识,设法化解汉英语言在文化、习惯、风格等方面的差异,以目的语为归宿,让译入语受众顺利获取信息,使跨文化交际得以成功实现。本文阐述了跨文化交际与公示语汉英翻译的关系,从跨文化视角分析公示语翻译过程中出现的问题,以相关理论为指导,提出相应的翻译策略。
The objective of C-E translation about public signs is to ensure the target audience’s accurate and obstruction-free comprehension of the messages the source text conveys. To meet this goal, the translator should adopt a target language-centered approach and should, on the basis of that, strive to negotiate the differences between cultural dispositions, linguistic habits and the stylistic norms encoded respectively in the two languages concerned. This paper analyzes the relations between cross-cultural communication and C-E translation about public signs. It also discusses some problems in the translation and provides some promising strategies for carrying out the above-stated task.
