This paper presents an overview of numerous published reports in the literature on the behivor and removal methods of organic substances in Bayer process. Much attention is paid to introduce the application of wet oxidation in Bayer process. The principle and effect of the wet oxidation are described in detail. The issues of cost, safety and corrosion of this method are analyzed.
