Oil painting industry occupies an important position in the cultural industry in Xiamen, and its accelerating development should follow the laws of both market and art. The investigation of Xiamen oil painting industry in this paper reveals its stares quo; its characteristics are shown through the study of its painters, operation, material and mould making. The paper finally gives some effective measures to accelerate the development of oil painting industry in Xiamen.
