A Comparative Study on the Animal Culture and its Social Environment Recorded in the Proverbs of Thai language and Chinese Language

文化是语言的土壤,语言是文化的载体。任何语言的生存发展都离不开其赖以生存的社会文化环境,社会文化促进语言的发展与完善,影响着语言使用者的思维和表达能力。不同的语言要素反映着不同的文化属性,寓示着不同民族文化心理和不同的文化世界。语言是文化的一部分,又是文化的映像。文化背景和自然条件等的不同,各种动物在不同的语言里也褒贬不一,反映出不同的文化心态。本文从一个新的角度:成语中记载的动物文化现象为出发点,研究汉泰民族文化的异同,从而有利于了解两种民族的社会文化和心理文化,有利于跨文化的交流。

Language is the carder of its culture, as well as the key component of the culture. The culture is the hotbed of its language, and the language plays the role of the cartier of the culture. The existence and development of any language depends of the cultural environment of this society brings great development and improvement to the language, creating influence on the thoughts and language ability of the users of this language. Different elements of the language would reflect different properties of its culture, and indicate the different cultural psychologies and environments of different nationalities. As part of the culture, language is also the reflection of its culture. Because of the different culture backgrounds and natural conditions, animals are given different cultural psychologies of the people. This paper is trying, from a new angle, to analyze some of those differences in the cultures of the Han people and the Thai people by studying the animal culture and its social environment recorded in the proverbs of the Thai language, aiming to improve the mutual understanding of the social cultures and psychologies, as well as the intercultural communications of the two people.
