Western Historiography:From "Integral History" to "Global History"

全球史的观念可以追溯到文艺复兴时期的整体史、18-19世纪的普世史和文明史以及20世纪的总体史。换句话说,我们可以从西方史学中识别出一个历史悠久的传统,它有其古典基础,经历了从整体史、文明史和总体史到全球史的发展过程。

The global history idea traces back to the integral history in the Renaissance, to the universal history and the civilization history of the 18th century and the 19th century, as well as to the total history of the 20th century. In other words, we can identify a time-honored tradition in the western historiography, which is of classical foundation and undergoes the development process from the integral history, the civilization history, the total history to the global history.
