西方绘画尤其从14世纪、15世纪的文艺复兴开始至今形式和体系已经相对完善,与东方绘画比较而言,更注重光的运用,强调体积、空间和色彩的表现,其用光方式有聚集光、散射光、平光和逆光几种大的形式。这些元素构成了油画的基本规律和方法。

From the Renaissance in the 14^th and 15^th century till the present, the form and system of Western paintings have been perfected. In comparison with the Eastern painting, the Western one put emphases on tight, volume, space and color. The forms of using tight include concentrating light, reflective light, parallel light and backlight. These elements constitute the basic rules and methods of oil painting.
