Presents the definitions of cleanroom occupation status in US federal standards, EU GMP and ISO standards, and summarizes the difference of these definitions. Analyses the obstacles probably encountered in actual project certification and assessment procedure for the cleanroom occupation status defined in the ISO 14644- 1--1999 standard, and proposes a definition framework.
