唯科学的西方马克思主义反对"目的论的分析方法",认为它具有主观性、片面性、表面性,用它分析马克思哲学,将导致否认马克思哲学科学性和独创性的危险。"科学的认识方法",应以整体性、客观性、现实性、发展性的认识原则为基础。唯科学的西方马克思主义的认识原则,既有符合唯物辩证法的合理性,又有结构主义的片面性。

Scientistic western Marxists oppose the ＂teleological analysing method＂, which is regarded as subjective, one-sided and superficial and thus risks denying the scientificness and originality of Marxist philosophy. The ＂scientific cognition method＂ should be based upon the principles of integrated, objective, realistic and developmental cognition. The cognitive principle of scientistic western Marxism has both the rationality of materialist dialectic and the one-sidedness of structuralism.
