Comparison Between Politeness Principles in English&Chinese and Cross-Cultural Communicative Language Teaching and Learning

本文通过对英汉两种语言中遵循的礼貌原则的对比分析,阐明了英汉两种语言礼貌原则的差异,寻求两种语言中礼貌原则的侧重点和应遵循的礼貌原则,以获得最佳的交际效果,并从五个方面提出了跨文化交际教学的建议。

Politeness has been prevailing among human beings and it is closely associated with culture. Different cultures are bestowed with particular expressions for politeness. In this thesis, author does a comparison between Politeness Principles in English and Chinese in order to clarify the differences between them and explore the emphasis of each one in the hope of giving some beneficial enlightenments to Cross-Cultural Communication. Based on these studies, author represents some suggestions for Cross-Culture Communicative Language Teaching and Learning from five aspects, that is, teachers, learners, teaching resources, teaching methods, and testing in order to develop learners＇ Cross-Cultural Communicative Competence.
