评《大二心河》译本“美”的传达

On the Conveying of Beauty in the Two Chinese Versions of "Big Two-Hearted River"

海明威是我国读者十分熟悉的美国作家,其作品文风简约清新,含蓄,意味深长。《大二心河》是他的著名的短篇小说之一,讲述了尼克钓鱼以寻回逝去感情的故事,意味深长。不同的译者对这篇的小说进行了翻译,译作各有特色。笔者试图运用翻译美学对吴劳与张祥麟两个版本的译作进行对比研究。

Hemingway is a writer familiar to Chinese readers, with his works well-known for their simplicity in language, and their profundity in meaning. ＂Big Two-Hearted Piiver＂ is one of his famous novels, which tells about the story of Nike going fishing to regain his lost feelings. The two translators, Wu Lao and Prof. Zhang Xiang-lin, have made their translations available to us. Here in my thesis I＇ d like to make a contrastive study on the two Chinese versions through Translation Aesthetics, to arrive at the conclusion that in translation, one should fully understand the beauty of the original work, including the language and the style, and the meaning to convey the beauty of the original work using all of one＇ s aesthetic experience available in the most natural ways.
