A new fiber sensor adopted the ratio of diffuse reflect is proposed for measuring surface roughness.This fiber sensor,based on the theory of ratio of diffuse reflect determined by the surface roughness,eliminate the influence on the measured result caused by the change of surface reflectance and the unsteadiness of light sourse.The fiber sensor can be used not only for measuring surface roughness but also for measuring micro-displacement.
