In the use of language, male and female have different choices for such language elements as tune, intonation, words, sentences and topics, which means they have different styles of utterance as well. In this article the authors think that such differences are caused by different psychological characteristics, language environment, and social division of labor and traditional concepts. Understanding such differences in details is helpful in avoiding pragmatic errors in cross -sexual communication.
