《先唐诗人考论》是一部对唐以前自屈原到谢朓的二十余位作家,六十余个学术视点进行宏、微观研究的学术著作,以其探幽发微、补苴罅漏的深细研究,形成了既"破"又"立","破"、"立"结合,又有补文学史本之阙的两大特色。

A Textual Research on Poets before Tang Dynasty is an academic book about 20 poets before Tang Dynasty, the great patriotic poet Qu Yuan in the Warring States Period of ancient China being the first and Xie Tiao （464 -499） a poet in the Southern Dynasty being the last under discussion. And the author of this book has also analyzed more than 60 points of views about those great poets in Chinese literary history. The author of this article thinks that this book has two features worthy of attention ： firstly, the book is an addendum to the historical information about these poets; and secondly the author has not only presented the points of view in the past but also put forward his own new ideas.
